Where your image is processed, how long it is held, and the uses we choose not to make of it.
OVESSI treats your face with the same care we treat your formula. This page describes exactly how the image from your 60-second scan is handled, where the analysis runs, and the uses we deliberately do not make of your image.
Where the analysis runs
The 60-second face scan is performed by our analysis provider on their secure servers. When you complete the scan, your image is transmitted to the provider for the duration of the analysis. The provider extracts the visible metrics across the seven facial zones, returns those metrics to OVESSI, and the image is deleted from the provider. We do not retain a copy of your image inside our application.
The dossier and where it lives
Your reading is then assembled into a personalised OVESSI dossier. The dossier is a PDF. It carries the metrics, the matched ritual, and a single frame from your scan so you can see what we read. The PDF is built by our renderer, uploaded to our content delivery network at a non-guessable address, and the renderer discards its working copy. If you provided an email address, the address of the PDF is written to your profile in our email platform so we can send you the dossier and so you can ask for it again later. The PDF on the network and the address against your profile are the only places a record of your reading is retained.
What we do not do with your reading
We do not use your image, your questionnaire answers or your dossier to train any model. We do not use them to improve any tool. We do not share them with advertisers. We do not use them for identity verification. We do not use them for any purpose beyond delivering the single Skin Reading you began and the ritual recommendation that follows it.
Aggregate signals
We keep anonymous usage signals about Skin Reading at the aggregate level, such as how many readings were completed in a region, so we can keep the experience fast and clear. Those signals are not linked to your identity and never include your image or your dossier.
Your choices
You can take Skin Reading without an account. You can take it without providing an email, in which case the dossier opens in a new tab and is not stored against your address in our email platform. You can ask us to delete the dossier and the profile we hold for you at any time, by writing to the address in our Privacy Policy.
