An OVESSI consumer study

What 28 days of layering actually does.

We invited sixty-eight people to live with our five core rituals for four weeks. No filters, no flashy claims : just morning and night, the same shelf, the same considered steps. These are the numbers they came back with.

How we ran it

A quiet, honest protocol.

01

Recruited

68 participants across the UK, EU and US. Ages 22 to 54. All skin types, all concerns. No professionals.

02

Matched

Each person was paired to one of our five rituals based on a short skin diary : Hydration, Barrier, Glow, Clarity or Sensitive reset.

03

Lived

Twice a day, every day, for 28 days. Photographed in the same morning light. No other new products introduced.

04

Asked

Self-assessment surveys at day 7, day 14 and day 28. Free-text journals. No leading questions. No scripted phrases.

By day 28

The journey

What people noticed, when.

Week 01

Skin gets quieter.

By day seven, 71% reported less reactivity to the cold, less tightness after cleansing, fewer of the small flare-ups they'd come to expect.

71%less reactivity
Week 02

The barrier comes back.

Mid-trial, 82% described their skin as feeling more cushioned, less papery, holding moisture longer through the day.

82%better cushion
Week 03

Tone starts to even.

At day 21, 79% photographed a more uniform tone : less visible redness, less of the patchiness around the nose and chin.

79%more even tone
Week 04

Something shifts.

By day 28, 87% saw a real difference in the mirror : softer surface, lit-from-within glow, the kind of skin you stop apologising for.

Per ritual

Five rituals, five outcomes.

Each ritual was tested independently. Here is what people felt by week four, and the heroes they layered to get there.

In their words

What they wrote, unprompted.

"It's the first time my skin has felt cushioned by the end of the day, not papery. I stopped touching my face to check."

Hana K. · Hydration ritual · Day 21

"I'd given up on the redness around my nose. It's just quieter now. Quieter is the right word."

Sofia R. · Sensitive Reset · Day 28

"Three minutes morning and night. I kept waiting for it to feel like a chore. It didn't."

Marie L. · Glow ritual · Day 14

"My makeup sits differently. That's what I noticed first. It just sits."

Priya A. · Barrier ritual · Day 28
The honest part

What this study is, and isn't.

What it is

  • A consumer-perception study with 68 self-selected participants.
  • Self-assessed at day 7, 14 and 28 through anonymous survey.
  • Photographed in the same morning light, same angle, same setting.
  • Designed and analysed by our research team.

What it isn't

  • Not a clinical study. Not double-blind. Not placebo-controlled.
  • Not a guarantee : skin is personal, and what works changes by season, hormones and stress.
  • Not a medical claim. We do not treat, cure or diagnose.

We publish the unflattering numbers too. If your skin is asking for something different, we'd rather you find it than push through.

Find the ritual your skin is asking for.

Two minutes. Five questions. A starting shelf, not a sermon.
