THE FACE RITUAL · MASKS

The slow moment the rest of the ritual earns.

A face mask is the step that asks for fifteen quiet minutes and gives back a week of concentrated benefit. Sheet masks drawn from the Korean tradition press a full serum dose into the surface under gentle occlusion. Gel masks from Japanese formulation cool and calm. Patches address the single spot with precision. The ceremony of the mask is as important as the active inside it.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Mask questions

How often should I use a face mask?
Once or twice a week is the right frequency for most mask types. Sheet masks for hydration can be used more frequently if the skin is very dehydrated. Exfoliating masks should be limited to once a week. The mask is a weekly reset, not a daily layer.
When in the ritual should I apply a mask?
After cleansing and before serum. The mask works best on a clean surface, and applying serum after the mask extends and seals the benefit. On sheet-mask nights, you can skip the separate serum if the mask essence is sufficient for that session.
Should I rinse off a sheet mask or press the essence in?
Press the remaining essence in. Remove the sheet, then press gently with fingertips to help the remaining serum absorb. Follow with moisturiser to seal. Rinsing removes the benefit from the surface before it has time to penetrate fully.
Can I use patches on active blemishes?
Yes. Salicylic acid or hydrocolloid patches on active blemishes draw out fluid and active congestion overnight. Apply to clean, dry skin for best adhesion. They are most effective in the earliest stage of a blemish, before it has surfaced fully.
