The questions below are the ones we are asked most often. The answers are written in the same voice as the reading itself.
How long does the reading take
Around two minutes from start to finish. The six considered questions take about a minute. The guided face scan takes 60 seconds. The dossier opens in a new tab the moment the reading completes.
Do I have to do both halves
Yes. The reading is one reading made of two halves. The six questions and the 60-second face scan are required together. One half on its own would produce a partial reading, and OVESSI does not build rituals on a partial reading.
Do I need an account
No. You can begin and complete the reading without an account. You can provide an email at the end to receive a copy of your dossier in your inbox, but it is optional. With or without the email, your dossier opens in a new tab the moment the reading completes.
What happens to my image
The image from your scan is transmitted to our analysis provider, processed to extract the visible metrics, and deleted from the provider. We do not retain a copy of it inside our application, and we do not use it to train any model or share it with advertisers. A single frame from the scan is embedded in the dossier PDF so you can see what we read, and the PDF lives at a non-guessable address on our content delivery network with its location held against your email in our email platform if you supplied one. What is in the dossier
The five visible cues your face showed during the scan, the focus your skin is asking for now, your matched ritual with each of the four layers in order and the reasoning behind every selection, and the active ingredients your skin will respond to. It is a quiet document, designed to be useful for around three months.
When should I take the reading again
Whenever your skin shifts. Seasons, travel, stress and habit all leave marks. The reading stays accurate for around three months on average. There is no cap on how often you may return, and there is no penalty for taking it again.
Is it a medical assessment
No. The reading is a careful, non-medical description of what your skin is doing now, paired with a virtual ritual to answer it. It does not diagnose any condition. If you have a clinical concern, see a clinician.
What does it cost
Nothing. The reading and the dossier are free. The ritual it matches is the one we recommend you start with, and the only thing you ever pay for is the ritual you choose to begin.
