El reinicio, usado con moderación. Ácidos y enzimas que levantan las células opacas de la superficie para que las capas debajo trabajen.
THE FACE RITUAL · EXFOLIANTS
The reset used sparingly and with intention.
Exfoliants occupy the sharpest position in the OVESSI ritual. Acids lift the surface layer that dulls texture and blocks the layers underneath. Enzymes dissolve dead cells with a gentler touch suited to reactive skin. Both are more powerful than most people expect and more effective when used twice a week than every night. The Japanese principle here: texture as ceremony, not punishment.
Skin feels newly surfaced. Brighter where it once looked dull.

FREQUENTLY ASKED
Exfoliant questions
How often should I exfoliate?
Two to three times a week for most skin types. Sensitive or reactive skin may benefit from once a week, using an enzyme exfoliant rather than an acid. More frequent use does not produce faster results and often triggers barrier disruption that sets the ritual back.
What is the difference between AHAs and BHAs?
AHAs, such as glycolic and lactic acid, work on the skin’s surface to improve texture, brightness, and tone. BHAs, such as salicylic acid, are oil-soluble and penetrate into the pore to clear congestion. Oily and blemish-prone skin benefits most from BHA. Dry and dull skin responds well to AHA.
Can I use an exfoliant and a retinol alternative on the same night?
Not recommended on the same night, particularly when introducing either for the first time. Alternate them on different evenings. Once the skin is accustomed to both, some people tolerate them on the same night, but begin separately and add together only when the skin signals it can hold both.
Do I need SPF the morning after an exfoliant?
Yes, and this applies to every morning, but it is especially important after exfoliation. Fresh surface cells are more susceptible to UV damage. Applying SPF the morning after an acid or enzyme exfoliant is not optional if you want to preserve the improvement that exfoliation creates.
