What concentration of urea is best for different concerns?
At 2% to 5%, urea is a gentle humectant suitable for daily face and body use. At 10% to 20%, it acts as a keratolytic that softens and removes thickened skin on heels, elbows, and dry patches. At 40% and above, it is used in clinical settings for nail and callus treatment.
Is urea safe for sensitive skin?
At low concentrations of 5% and below, urea is well tolerated by most skin types including sensitive skin. Higher concentrations may sting on broken or inflamed skin. If you have reactive or sensitive skin, start with a lower-concentration formula and assess tolerance before using a higher-strength product.
Can I use urea on my face?
