BY CONCERN · MAKE-UP BUILDUP

Every layer of the day, lifted cleanly away.

Make-up, SPF, and the day’s sebum sit at different depths and respond to different chemistry. The Korean double-cleanse method addresses all three: an oil-based first step that dissolves pigment and UV filters, a water-based second step that rinses the surface clean. OVESSI double-cleanse formulas are composed to work together, not interchangeably, and the result is a surface that feels truly rinsed, not just touched.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Make-up buildup questions

Is a double cleanse necessary every night?
On days you have worn SPF, foundation, or any silicone-based product, yes. A single water-based cleanser does not fully dissolve oil-based formulations and leaves residue that accumulates overnight. On bare-skin days, a single gentle wash is sufficient.
Will cleansing oil remove waterproof make-up?
Yes. Oil-based cleansers dissolve the wax and silicone structures in waterproof mascara and long-wear foundation more effectively than micellar water or wipe-based methods. Apply dry, massage for sixty seconds, then emulsify with warm water before rinsing.
Can I use the double-cleanse method with a cleansing balm instead of oil?
Yes. A cleansing balm melts on contact with skin and performs the same first-step function as an oil. Some people prefer the balm texture for the additional massage it allows. Both formats emulsify cleanly and rinse without a film.
Does double cleansing dry out the skin?
Not when both steps are formulated gently. OVESSI double-cleanse formulas are built to remove what needs removing while leaving the barrier lipids intact. The skin should feel soft and slightly damp after rinsing, not tight or stripped.
