How many serums can I layer at once?
One to two is the practical maximum for daily use. Layering more serums than this increases the risk of interaction between actives and reduces the absorption of each. Choose one serum for your primary concern and one for a secondary concern if you have one. Leave the rest for alternate nights.
How long does a serum take to work?
In the OVESSI 28-Day Study, 87% of 68 participants saw a visible improvement in their primary concern by day 28. Some actives, such as hyaluronic acid, show an immediate surface plumping effect. Others, such as peptides and vitamin C, build over three to four weeks of daily use.
Should I apply serum to damp or dry skin?
Damp skin, for most serums. Humectant serums, including those with hyaluronic acid, perform better applied to slightly damp skin because they draw available water into the surface from both above and below. Apply toner first, then apply the serum before the surface fully dries.
Can I mix a serum into my moisturiser?
Not recommended. Mixing dilutes both formulas and disrupts the stabilisation that keeps actives effective. Apply separately: serum first, moisturiser after two minutes when the serum has been pressed in. The layering sequence is the point, not a shortcut around it.
