A mask at this step only works if it does more than sit on top of the strand. The aqueous base is built around Cantharellus Cibarius (Chanterelle) Extract, organically sourced, a polysaccharide-rich ingredient that provides an immediately soothing and hydrating environment for the protein and lipid actives that follow. Sodium PCA and PCA Glyceryl Oleate, both derived from natural pyrrolidone carboxylic acid, are skin-identical humectants that also function in the hair fibre, attracting and retaining moisture in the cortex where flexibility originates.
Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride provides the primary conditioning and detangling action, creating the slippage that allows the mask to distribute evenly without pulling. Hydrolyzed Keratin, positioned after the main emulsion components, is a low-molecular-weight fragment sized to penetrate the cuticle and bind to damaged sites within the cortex. Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein reinforces this structural work at the cuticle surface. Together, the two proteins address damage from within and from the outside simultaneously.
Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, organically sourced, provides the primary emollient richness of the formula, with a fatty acid profile dominated by stearic and oleic acids that soften and smooth the hair shaft on contact. Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, also organically certified, contributes oleic-acid-rich lipid replenishment. Tocopherol and Ascorbyl Palmitate provide antioxidant protection that slows the progressive oxidative damage that environmental exposure causes between treatments.
