The Hour is designed to evoke the softness of a meadow in early bloom: delicate, fresh, and quietly alive. Its fragrance compound centres on Citronellol and Geranyl Acetate for a rosy, floral-green character, with Phenylethyl Alcohol adding rose-like depth and Limonene keeping the opening bright. The natural soy wax supports a slower release of the lighter aromatic components, while the unbleached cotton wick is sized for the 100 ml vessel to encourage a clean melt pool. Formulation
The base is natural soy wax, chosen for its lower combustion temperature relative to paraffin : a property that preserves the lighter aromatic components in the fragrance compound and releases them at a rate more closely analogous to the way flowers actually diffuse scent : slowly, and over time. The unbleached cotton wick is sized for the 100 ml vessel to produce a clean melt pool without overdriving the fragrance output.
The fragrance compound opens with Limonene, a monoterpene present in the peel of citrus fruits and many floral essential oils, which provides the immediate brightness that distinguishes a light floral from a heavy one. Citronellol, a terpene alcohol with a rosy, slightly citrus-green character, forms the core of the accord alongside Geranyl Acetate, which adds a delicate, fruity-floral freshness associated with geranium and rose absolute. Phenylethyl Alcohol, the compound most directly responsible for the scent of fresh-cut roses, provides the floral depth and naturalness at the base. Benzyl Salicylate rounds the composition with a soft, balsamic warmth that keeps the overall accord from reading as thin.
